What to expect from root treatment?
During root canal treatment, we use high-tech equipment and perform the procedure under a microscope.
The first step in root canal treatment is an accurate diagnosis. A root canal is needed when the pulp (the inner soft tissue of the tooth) is inflamed or infected. Often, the tooth will hurt when pressed or be highly sensitive to temperature changes. Swelling around the tooth indicates the presence of bacteria.
During treatment, the doctor creates an opening in the crown of the tooth and prepares it until the soft pulp tissue is exposed. Then, a rubber dam (cofferdam) is placed. It acts as a safety net for small instruments, provides a clear working area for the doctor, and ensures that saliva does not contaminate the root canal system.
The root canal is then carefully cleaned and shaped to the required size. Using a microscope allows for precise identification of the tooth’s microstructures, removal of foreign objects, and airtight sealing of the root canal. Root treatment Sviatoshino
